Project 365....day 119

Today I decided to take another solo crack at Amish country. After last week, when I got stuck in the mud, I was a bit nervous, but I decided to prove that I wasn't scared, and off I went. The results were AMAZING! ♥ I truly live in such a beautiful place!

"Oh, what a beautiful morning."

"Yes, what a wonderful day!"

"I've got a beautiful feeling..."

"Everything's going my way!"

Project 365....day 118

Wednesday was a beautiful day....well, not so much as far as the weather goes, but for pictures; yesterday was a beautiful, wonderful, fantastic, very-good day! I took a ride with my friend Matt, just trying to see what we could see. As you can see below, there were a great many interesting things to be seen!

There were horses...

...and flowers....

...then I was inspired!

By some dandelion fluff that reminded me of my amazing friend Sarah's painting...

Project 365....day 117

Tuesday the husband and I went for cocktails with my Grammy ( ♥ ) and then we took a ride out to see the Amish farms (after my disastrous trip this past week, I will never do that particular ride alone again) The results, as you will see, are beautiful!

Monday was a rainy day....but of course, not until JUST before I was leaving to take my pictures for the day...as a result I got precious little that I could use. These are the highlights....

Project 365....day 115

Sunday was another long day at work; there was a party to deal with, plus the normal-regular-Sunday stuff...once I finally got done, I was nearly out of light, and only had a tiny bit of light to capture whatever I could...with that in mind, I set off to shoot something I've been thinking about capturing since I started this project in January....the plane that sits out in front of the Fulton County Airport.....

Project 365....day 114

Saturday was a day for being outside! The weather was glorious, and we took advantage of it by taking the little humans out hiking! We chose an easy trail for Toes' first hike EVER on his own feet, and we all had a great time running and jumping and searching for salamanders (or "sally-gators" if you ask my toes. ♥ )

Amelia-mazing posing with some birch trees for me.

Project 365....day 113

The last time I updated this blog was Sunday night; I entered the I ♥ faces challenge. As it stands, I am about 6 days behind blogging my 365 entries, but now it's time for me to play another giant game of catch-up! Watch me go!! On Friday the sun was shining, and the wind was blowing! It looked absolutely beautiful out, but the wind was vicious. The water, however, was a beautiful sparkling blue. I was so lucky to capture such beautiful moments.

"Whenever I see your smilin' face..."

"...I have to smile myself."

It's I ♥ smiles week this week at I ♥ faces, and when I saw this challenge, I immediately knew who my picture would be of this week. A few weeks ago I literally bumped into my friend Matt and his daughter while I was out taking my 365 pictures for the day. Well, we'd been trying *(unsuccessfully)* for a few weeks at that point to get together so I could shoot his daughter for him. So I seized the opportunity, and we had a great, if short, mini-shoot. This is one of my very favorites out of the bunch; every time I see it, I am just captured by the wistfulness on her face. I love the way it looks like she's smiling about some little secret....you never know, maybe she's got the secret to the world in there...

To see more amazing smiles, head on over to I ♥ faces!

Project 365....day 112

Today I had the privilege of taking the second set of pictures for my friend Shawna and Jim's 'watch me grow' package. We had sweet baby B's newborn shoot today (a special post for those pictures will be coming soon!) So today, I will share my favorite little baby part; their toes. ♥

Project 365....day 111

Let me tell you a story.

Yesterday was a beautiful day. I got the chance to take a ride, and since I had been with my friend Shelby the day before, I was feeling inspired....she was so full of 'you should ride out towards Canjo, the farms and the hills, and the old barns and farm equipment, etc. etc. etc.' I was totally sold. So, I headed out on this beautiful, bright sunny day out through the Valley and through the Amish farm country. Let me tell you, it was so beautiful. The sun was shining, and the sky was BRIGHT blue, and the clouds were puffy and perfect...just the most BEAUTIFUL spring day....so I ride out for a while, and I pass this farm field with hay stacks, rather than bales of hay, or rolls of hay, and I decided shortly there after to turn around and go back so I could pull over and catch this shot. It was perfect.

So, I pulled over. And my car immediately sunk in the mud. And when I say sunk, I mean sunk. Buried. The entire right side of my car stuck down in about 8 inches of mud and cow shit. Let me tell you. I was thrilled. I had no cellphone reception, and was SO worried about having to walk to a house and use the phone and call my husband and listen to him laugh at me. Instead, luck was on my side! Within about 3 minutes of me being stuck, two very nice, very attractive guys stopped to see if they could help me. They tried, and failed (as I had predicted) to push me out, and within about 5 more minutes, an amazingly helpful, wonderful farmer stopped to come to my rescue! An honest to god knight in shining.....pick-up truck. Long story longer, he pulled me up and out of the mud, and I was able to slink off on my way. However, I never did get my shot of that field.

Fail.

So anyway, here are the bits and pieces I was able to capture on my adventures yesterday! Enjoy!

So I've been looking and looking for the perfect hand-water pump for a long time, and I finally found it on Stoner Lake!

The beautiful, calm water of Stoner Lake.

"Guess my feet know where they want me to go.....walkin' down a country road.

Project 365....day 110

Tuesday was another glorious day, and I did a good deed for the day. A friend of mine was having surgery, so I offered to drive her to and from...that took the majority of my day, but I made it home just in time for my favorite time of the day.....BATHTIME!

Toes offering a sweet smile and a 'cheese' for the camera!

The poor kid couldn't figure out where the heck the water all went!

Project 365....day 109

Monday was a day of sunshine, and wonderful blue skies, and I was fortunate enough to get to spend the afternoon outdoors with my sweet little humans!

Amelia-mazing danced.....Toes clapped.

Then we saw this guy....

...and Amelia-mazing informed me that that was a mallard. She's so friggin' smart!

Project 365....day 108

Still playing catch up, but I'm getting closer to being caught-up! The thing is....I can't stay focused on any one job for too long before I get distracted like a goldfish and move off to something else....especially when the kids are pulling me in 300 different directions at once. With that in mind, here are my 365's for day 108; (which was April 18th)

The Sunset on Sunday after work...

I could not resist the 'cheshire cat-smile' that the moon was on Sunday.

{The Artist} Part II

My last post focused on the 'studio' session with Ms. Roberts, now I am going to show you the face behind the art ♥ As you can see in my previous post, Ms. Roberts can create some amazing-ass art! What you may not have noticed, though, is how gorgeous she is herself. Once we were done at her studio, I took Ms. Roberts to Canada Lake both to get to visit for a while longer, and to take advantage of the beautiful day, and amazing natural light and capture her spirit in an easy non-painful way for the girl who detests her picture being taken. I was pleased with the results, and I hope you enjoy them as well!

Ladies and Gentlemen, once again, the beautiful, fabulously talented Ms. Roberts!

{The Artist} Part I

Last Thursday I was fortunate enough to get to collaborate with my friend Ms. Roberts. She is an amazingly talented artist who's gearing up for a show in early June at the Tiffany Smith Gallery in Johnstown, NY. We had a great time catching up over coffee before heading off to her studio, where I got to see the magic in-progress! Here are the perfect bits from that shoot! (the Outdoor Portrait Session soon to come!)
Ladies and Gentlemen; the Amazing, talented, and all around super-cool chick; Ms. Sarah Roberts!

For her 'truth' series, Ms. Roberts asked for honest confessions that were offered by patrons from her previous shows...

My favorite piece from her 'the truth' series

The fabulous Ms. Roberts, hard at work!

A candid portrait of Ms. Roberts as she steps back to study her work.

A profile portrait of the artist at work.

One of my favorite captures; the paint brushes in her hair are perfect!

By this point, I like to think she forgot about the camera and was totally lost in the creation.
