Day 207 brought me back to the covered bridge in Edinburgh, NY...you know, the one I blogged about here, and here. Well anyway....I headed back up there to see what I could see, and I found a few beautiful bits and pieces!!
Today I had to go print a recent order, and once I was done with that I went for a ride to get my 365 pictures for the day. Here are my finds for the day; a gazebo, and some beautiful orange flowers!
Saturday we had some storms....well, sort of. They were calling for tornado watches, of all things (!) in upstate NY! Because of that, though, the sky was a beautiful deep blue with bits of clouds.
some more industrial shots, made MUCH better by the beautiful sky...
Day 131. I've decided that less is more here, so I'll be mostly just including my pictures from here on out. That is the part of this that always holds me up, you see. I have my pictures ready, but then I try to write up a little paragraph, and I get stuck, and then my blog sits here, for days, untouched. And that makes me sad. So, no more pressure on me to write. I will let my photos speak for themselves a little more.
Today I decided to take another solo crack at Amish country. After last week, when I got stuck in the mud, I was a bit nervous, but I decided to prove that I wasn't scared, and off I went. The results were AMAZING! ♥ I truly live in such a beautiful place!
Tuesday the husband and I went for cocktails with my Grammy ( ♥ ) and then we took a ride out to see the Amish farms (after my disastrous trip this past week, I will never do that particular ride alone again) The results, as you will see, are beautiful!
Yesterday was a beautiful day. I got the chance to take a ride, and since I had been with my friend Shelby the day before, I was feeling inspired....she was so full of 'you should ride out towards Canjo, the farms and the hills, and the old barns and farm equipment, etc. etc. etc.' I was totally sold. So, I headed out on this beautiful, bright sunny day out through the Valley and through the Amish farm country. Let me tell you, it was so beautiful. The sun was shining, and the sky was BRIGHT blue, and the clouds were puffy and perfect...just the most BEAUTIFUL spring day....so I ride out for a while, and I pass this farm field with hay stacks, rather than bales of hay, or rolls of hay, and I decided shortly there after to turn around and go back so I could pull over and catch this shot. It was perfect.
So, I pulled over. And my car immediately sunk in the mud. And when I say sunk, I mean sunk. Buried. The entire right side of my car stuck down in about 8 inches of mud and cow shit. Let me tell you. I was thrilled. I had no cellphone reception, and was SO worried about having to walk to a house and use the phone and call my husband and listen to him laugh at me. Instead, luck was on my side! Within about 3 minutes of me being stuck, two very nice, very attractive guys stopped to see if they could help me. They tried, and failed (as I had predicted) to push me out, and within about 5 more minutes, an amazingly helpful, wonderful farmer stopped to come to my rescue! An honest to god knight in shining.....pick-up truck. Long story longer, he pulled me up and out of the mud, and I was able to slink off on my way. However, I never did get my shot of that field.
Fail.
So anyway, here are the bits and pieces I was able to capture on my adventures yesterday! Enjoy!
So I've been looking and looking for the perfect hand-water pump for a long time, and I finally found it on Stoner Lake!
The beautiful, calm water of Stoner Lake.
"Guess my feet know where they want me to go.....walkin' down a country road.
Yesterday was a pretty exciting day for me! While I was out for just a minute (i literally had less than an hour) getting my 365's, I happened to run into my friend Matt and his lovely daughter Kira. Thus, we had an impromptu portrait mini-session in the 45 minutes I had after I ran into them....that will be posted momentarily, but for now, here are yesterday's 365's; day 102!
It was a perfect day for finding pictures in the clouds...
A beautiful church tower in the middle of Gloversville, NY
So apparently last week I was lazier than I thought; I really, REALLY thought I'd gotten my pictures up from Thursday, but as I just found out when I went to update this thing after my weekend out of town, I did not. I edited the pictures, and made them pretty and got them ready, then totally just did not post them. My bad. Anyway, here are my pictures from day #98; some beautiful scenery in Speculator, NY
A beautiful bit of 'small town' life...this beautiful church against the crystal-blue sky.
A strange angle on a beautiful garden trellis next to Lake Plesant.
A view from down here this time; the lip of a small garden and a view of Lake Plesant.
I couldn't resist just a few more captures of this trellis. I loved the shape of it.
Yesterday I have no real excuse aside from the fact that when I finally got home after shooting the sweetest little guy(s) *and girls* on the planet, I just didn't really feel up to getting these up yesterday. I know, I know....a bad precedent to be setting. Tisk-tisk, and all that jazz. Anyway, here are my 365's for day #97; to be followed shortly after by the portrait session I had with my friend Shelby's adorable little boy. ♥
Thursday I had the privilege of actually having a real, live model! My friend Matt and I went out to take advantage of the beautiful spring day we had. I did take a few other random pics while we were out, but I wasn't thrilled with any of the 'randoms', so I am choosing to use a few alternate edits from my portrait session with my friend Matt. Enjoy!
Hangin' out...catchin' up....snappin' pictures. My favorite kind of day!
Another beach shot...a bit longer this time to include the shadow.
On to the train tracks! One of my favorite locations to shoot portraits. (Please note the awesome sparkle from the sun on his glasses!)
This is one of my favorite pictures from the whole 2.5 hour session! I love the movement in this picture, and the angle his arms are at.
So once again, it's the weekend, and things are very, very hectic for me this weekend. Friday I had a chance to shoot a wide variety of subjects, but I did not get a chance to even get them on the computer last night! Thus, here I am playing catch-up as Sunday morning quickly approaches. Without further ado, here are my 365's for Friday; day 85!
Water dripping from a rock somewhere near the middle of a giant waterfall just outside of Mohawk, NY
After I'd gotten my fill of the waterfall, I drove back through Fonda, NY and stumbled across a farm where I captured the next few images.
This barn was falling down around this poor dump truck!
Once I finished there, it was off through Bleeker, to Nate's house to capture his pup Bongo.
Yesterday I had to work in the morning, and my sweet little toes was not feeling well at ALL, so I wasn't entirely sure I was going to have time to even get out and shoot yesterday. Thankfully, I was able to make my escape when my husband came home to take over w/the kids for a while so I could get out and shoot. By the time I made it out, it was late in the afternoon, and had started raining, but I'm still thrilled with the outcome. Here are my 365's for day 84!

A beautiful farm I passed on my way out Rt. 5 yesterday.
Today I had a lot of running around to do, and I also got a chance to get out all by myself to do some shooting, and I am so, so, SO pleased with the outcome. Here are my 365's for this dreary Monday.
I am such a sucker for this old-timey looking pictures. The farm and tractor lend themselves to nicely to this style picture.

Then, I drove out to Broadalbin, NY and captured this BEAUTIFUL shot of the Sacandaga lake-front.
So I have no real excuse for yesterday, so I'll just say it plain; I'm a lazy-ass slacker. There, I've said it. I wasn't feeling like doing anything by the time I finally got home last night. My husband spent the day throwing up, and then once I got home from work, the little humans and I went to dinner at my dad's house, and didn't get home until bedtime. Once they were settled, and the husband had been checked on, I was feeling burnt out, and frankly, I couldn't coax my lazy butt off the couch to even retrieve the wireless mouse and keyboard. Instead, I sat around and watched the Academy Awards, and ate some potato chips, and spent a very, very uncomfortable night on the couch to avoid whatever it was that the husband caught. Because of my lame-o excuses, once again I'm playing catch up, so here are yesterday's 365 pictures. I hope you love them!! ♥
This church in Fishhouse, NY is roughly 200 years old. The oldest graves in the adjoining graveyard is from the 1840's, which leads me to believe that the church was built at least a few years before then.
And as a bonus, here is a second edit I did of this same picture; I just could not pick a favorite.
More practice at hitting the wind-blown target with my macro shots!
Follow me as I document the special moments that make life worth living! I love photographing children in their natural environment and local scenery. I am willing and able to do Custom Christmas cards, Birth Announcements, and Invitations upon request.
I'm a photographer, a mother, a daughter, sister and friend. I love a bottle of good red wine and more genres of music than I could possibly name. I live on coffee, and the smiles I get from my kids. Photography is a passion.... something I could not get through the day without....on par with music, which is necessary for life.
My perfect match in nearly every way, Bobbo is truly my best friend. I love hanging out with him as much today as I did nearly ten years ago, and I feel so blessed to have such an amazing partner in crime, and a wonderful father for my humans. That's right, ladies, I have scored. Truly. He cooks, he works on cars, he baths, diapers, and rocks babies. He is truly a gem.
The Little Humans
Miss Amazing
My sweet, curious blue-eyed first born. From an early age, I was convinced that she was a super-hero, and to this day she has never ceased to amaze me, both with her thoughtful nature, and her ability to see the beauty and the good in everything. Amelia-mazing is an incredibly wonderful big sister, and loves and defends her brother with a vengeance, and I adore the bond that they have; they are truly best friends.

Toes
My handsome, determined, sweet second born son. From day one, tiny-toes was the exact opposite of his sister in every way. He has taught me that there is always more than one way to do things, (and he is determined to find every one, let me tell you!) and that you can watch a single episode of scooby-doo every day, for all the t.v. time you're allowed each day for 2 weeks without losing your mind......if it's a really good episode.
