Project 365....day 113

The last time I updated this blog was Sunday night; I entered the I ♥ faces challenge. As it stands, I am about 6 days behind blogging my 365 entries, but now it's time for me to play another giant game of catch-up! Watch me go!! On Friday the sun was shining, and the wind was blowing! It looked absolutely beautiful out, but the wind was vicious. The water, however, was a beautiful sparkling blue. I was so lucky to capture such beautiful moments.

Project 365....day 76

Today....er.....yesterday now, it was a beautiful, warm, sunny spring day. I knew just where I wanted to go; back to the Copeland covered bridge in Edinburg, NY. I photographed this bridge some time last month...or possibly in January, for another day of my 365 blog, but I wanted to get another look at things now that the snow is *almost* completely gone, and the Beecher Creek is now RUSHING with spring run off. It did not disappoint. My kids and husband were so impressed w/the bridge, not to mention all the beautiful, falling water and the view, and my pics were pretty pleasing to my eyes, at least. Successful outing yesterday!

This first capture is a macro shot of some un-named berrys. I have no idea what they are, but they looked pretty...just a note; the thorns SUCKED!

This next picture is probably my favorite capture of the day. I am SUCH a sucker for pink chucks. ♥

The top half of my beautiful little monster. In the process of exploring the bridge, she, of course had to climb every available surface.

The last capture I have to share from yesterday; my view from 'down here'. This was taken through a hole in one of the boards in the walls of the Copeland Covered Bridge. History in the every day, ya' know...

Project 365....day 64

Today is another day of playing catch-up. Yesterday I went out shooting, but then cut things a little close, and only made it home about 5 minutes early for my girl's bus! Then, with the husband competently in charge, I hurried off to work where I worked my butt off and carried a TON of great food for the The Fireside. When I got home, I didn't have the energy or time before bed to give these pictures the attention they deserved, so I opted to wait for today. So, only a little bit late, here are my 365's for yesterday.

I could not resist the way this crooked silo sat next to this farm in Galway, NY.

Project 365....day 27

Today's project 365 is an exciting one for me! My husband got out of work earlier than I'd expected today, so as soon as I finished watching Days of our Lives (go ahead, laugh at me) I took off, in search of 'the bridge'. I have been looking for a covered bridge for a few weeks now, and my friend Dave mentioned that there is one right across the street from his house. After checking out a map to make sure I knew where I was going, I set off!

First...a little history lesson;

In 1828 Arad and his brother Leonard moved to the Town of Edinburgh, purchasing Ely Beecher’s sawmill and carriage factory located along Beecher Creek. Arad had 35 acres across Beecher Creek where he had garden and pasture land. An open bridge below the house gave access to this acreage until it was destroyed by melting spring snow and ice. In 1879 he then decided to build the covered bridge that still stands today. According to family legend local residents Melzor Manning laid the stones, Jacob Latcher hewed the timbers and Azariah Ellithorpe Jr. framed the bridge. For the complete history, go here: History of the Copeland Covered Bridge

After I captured that shot, I climbed/slid my way down to the bottom of the rocks to get a different angle on the ice and the wintering plants.

The wild, flowing water of the Beecher Creek!

One of the last shots I took before I headed back home....from the top of the hill...I loved the look of the fence.

On my way home I detoured to take a few pictures for my friend Jani's son. ♥ he loves Trains, and while that will be it's whole own post, here is a pretty cool final shot for the day. I am curious to see what you all think this might be...
