Project 365....day 214

For day 214 I took a ride, and wound up somewhere between Caroga Lake and Bleaker. (I know exactly where I ended up, but it sort of ruins the magic of it all, to my mind anyway) I stopped, initially, to capture a beautiful little stream, which I did, but the pics didn't turn out the way I imagined them, so those got scrapped. That's just how I roll.

Instead, I found a pretty little flower...

And an AH-MAZ-ING red dragon fly! (Yes, you read that correctly, this sucker was BRIGHT red!)

Project 365....day 194

For day 194 I took a little ride to visit my friend Mrs. Falcon. Her babies are getting bigger!! ♥ I actually got a peek at them this time, which, let me tell you, was a HUGE highlight of this amazing photo week. Here, for your viewing pleasure is 'The view from up here'

Mama Falcon.....

A quick glimpse of the babies....

Then a couple of other goodies I found right there on the side of Rt. 8!

Project 365....day 182

For day 182, I got to do another portrait shoot with a great friend of mine...he's such a good sport and always up for anything I can come up with! Thanks again, SO MUCH, Matt!! That, however, will be it's own special post! For now, here are a few non-portrait out takes from our afternoon!

A new favorite of mine; up close and personal with a teeny-tiny lady bug!

Project 365....day 177

"And the stately lilies stand Fair in the silvery light, Like saintly vestals, pale in prayer; Their pure breath sanctifies the air, As its fragrance fills the night."

Project 365....day 176

Saturday was a gloomy day...I had to go out and shoot my little step-sister and her mom, and her family, and the sunshine held for that, but after that, it was nothing but gray skies. None the less, we took a ride in the evening, and I was able to capture a few pretty shots of some interesting star-shaped flowers.

Project 365....day 172

Today was a great, exciting day for me! My Amelia-lilies (so called because she bought them for me for Mothers day when she was about 15 mo. old, and we planted them that year) are blooming!! I have a BUNCH of blossoms this year, but for today I concentrated on the macro-capture. Enjoy!

Project 365....day 162

Yesterday was terribly rainy. It made it very, VERY difficult (and scary!) to take my brand new friend Mr. Canon outside.I managed to snag about fifteen minutes to sneak outside (sneaking so the clouds and the children didn't see me!) and I was fortunate enough to grab a bit of color! ♥

Project 365....day 160

"Fruitcakes in the kitchen, fruitcakes on the street. Strut naked through the crosswalk in the middle of the week.

Half-baked cookies in the oven. Half-baked people on my bus. There's a little bit of fruitcake left in everyone of us.

While I was at work Thursday night, I was lucky to have the nice weather and perfect light to capture the flowers I planted about a month ago. They're FINALLY starting to bloom!

Project 365....day 158

{Up-close, these big purple clovers always make me think of the truffula trees from the Lorax....

"I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees.
I speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues.
And I'm asking you, sir, at the top of my lungs"

My handsome husband is always complaining that when I take pictures of him, I never really show his face...it's always 'hat and beard', but never any face....so here, finally, are some good captures of 'husband'

Project 365....day 130

Day 130 of my 3.6.5. project found me with nearly the same weather we had a full month ago at this time! It has been freezing and windy as all get-out the last couple of days! We even had snow on the ground on Saturday, and flurries yesterday for Mothers Day! Seems more like November outside than May, but I guess in upstate NY you take what you can get...Anyway. Regardless of the wind and the chilly temperatures to begin with, the sky was beautiful and blue with the prettiest fluffy white clouds today. A beautiful day for photography!

A macro capture of what's left of the dandelions after they go to seed. They almost look like really, really tall, thin trees. So pretty.

Another capture of the same subject, this time edited in black and white. I can't seem to get enough of the dandelions these days!

Project 365....day 129

♥ Happy Mothers Day! ♥

Project 365....day 127

Friday was a pretty great day for me. A friend of mine who now lives in England came home to visit, and she made her way out here Friday night for some pizza, and a MUCH needed visit! ♥ Before she came out, I got a chance to get out and capture some amazing macro-shots.

First, some wild strawberry flowers.

Then, some flowers I can not name, but I really thought were beautiful!

Project 365....day 124

Day 124 was this past Tuesday. I had an amazing shoot with the daughter of a girl I used to play sports with in middle school. Little K. was amazing to shoot. She was so sweet, and full of energy, and just LOVED having her picture taken. Since this is my 365 blog though, I figured I couldn't use pictures that I will later use on my portrait post. Instead, I found some beautiful vegetation.

The stairs leading up into the park...

Some beautiful, blooming lilacs

Project 365....day 123

Monday night was a fun one around here! After we'd finished our awesome dinner, we took the kids for a walk/bike ride to get ice cream for the first time this year! (One of my favorite bits of every summer is the first trip to the ice cream shop, and I'm sure it's one of your favorites too!) On the walk there, I couldn't resist these beautiful bleeding hearts. (One of my FAVORITE flowers!)

"Once upon a time I was fallin' in love, now I'm only fallin' apart...

....nothin' I can do, a total eclipse of the heart."

Project 365....day 122

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! ahhh, but I digress. Again, I didn't have to work until the afternoon, and once again, it was a BEAUTIFUL day around these parts. On this particular day we decided to go take advantage my my momma's beautiful (huge) yard. (and I got to spend some time with my momma, of course. ♥ )

Toes was very serious about his yard work, as you can see.

Then he spent some time playin' with his Dad on the swings!

Then, just for fun, another shot at the macro-dandelion thing.
