Project 365....day 6

So, yesterday's 365 turned out to be pictures of my sweet girl, and today's is a showcase of my son. I didn't plan it this way, but today I did not have the little girl I usually babysit for, so Toes and I had a chance to take a 'snow walk'. These are some of my favorite moments from our little walk today.

Snowy Work Boots!

The thing you have to understand about Toes is that he loves the idea of having his picture taken, and then the minute I actually point a camera at him he's all "Don't cheese me!!!"

So serious...

The first time I edited this picture, I took out the black eye, (which this vintage edit seems to highlight so well) but in the end, decided to leave it for posterity. Still, even with the massive bruise on his face, I think he's so handsome!

Project 365....day 5

So I honestly wasn't sure if I was going to get my pictures up today...I have officially caught the stomach bug that the rest of my family has been suffering with, but thankfully (so far) I have only been dizzy and exhausted. Because of that, I didn't get out of my house to shoot today. Instead, i relied on my favorite subjects...my children!

Here is my sweet girl today coming home from school...the pic is a bit darker than I'd have liked, but you know....live and learn...

and here she is again, after bounding off the bus going "I didn't get sick at school! See! I am healthy! Can I PLEASE have a candy snack?!" (note the crossed hands.)

Last but not least today is another shot I took from my very own front porch. This year, when we decorated the Christmas tree, we strung popcorn. Now that the holidays are over, and the tree was falling to pieces in my living room, it was time for it to go....to the front yard, for the time being. Amelia and I decided that the least we could do was to let the birds get the popcorn before we burn the tree...to that end, here is our poor sad tree (still strung up with popcorn)

Some bonus shots...

That did not make it into the 365 post today. I got 4 up, and called that plenty, but then my poor sick husband and recovering-from-the-virus kids went to bed, and little old me had nothing to do but edit pictures! I know, so exciting, huh? Anywhere, here are a few extra from today's shoot. <3 Enjoy!

This is one of two pictures that I edited of my friends the cows after the fact. Love the contrasts between the blacks and whites with the snow.

Cow #2 is ready for her close-up!

Another shot of the lake near sunset.

Project 365....day 4

So, yesterday turned out to be an eventful day for me! I posted here, then yesterday afternoon went out to try to get some pictures in the snow....not only did I not get any *great* pictures, but I also slid off the road and got stuck in a snowbank! (doh!) I am fine, and so, thank God, is my car, and I am so lucky that 2 amazingly kind guys stopped to help me, since I had no cell service. (stupid living in the mountains!) Anyway....needless to say, yesterday afternoon's shoot wasn't so great, but today's was a totally different story! I got out for a couple of hours today, and even though it was freezing, it was a pretty sunny day, and I got some awesome shots...or at least I think so. hahaha. Anyway...on with the photo(s) of the day!

This is a shot from my second location today...I started off here shooting the barn and the fields, and then found myself some furry cow friends to capture...

This is another from my second location today. I am such a sucker for the wide open fields that come along with dairy farms. Not to mention the beautiful, exposed branches on the trees. They give it such a nice contrast.

Here is a landscape view of across the road from the last shot. In the distance is the Sacandaga lake.

This shot is from the third location I visited today. I love the way the cattails look with the snow built up around them.

Project 365....day 3

So day three, and so far, so good! (Trying to think positively about this project this year...I will NOT fail in 3 weeks this time!) Today's 365 entries are of my (semi) sweet little humans. <3 First is sweet little toes with his awful black eye! You can barely see it anymore (i think) but last week he fell face first into his great Gramma's kitchen table...anyway, he was waiting up for me with sweet smiles when I got home from work last night, very, very late, and I captured him trying to find me behind the camera (where I always seem to be hiding)

Second is another from last night. We're getting some more snow here in the cold, fridgid North, and I couldn't help but go out and freeze my fingers off for this shot. I love the way the trees look in the winter.

Then last, but certainly not least...my sweet girl. <3 She and I made muffins this morning, and she was SO proud of them (all I got to do was crack the egg and take them out of the oven...I've got my own little Betty Crocker/Donna Reed in the making!)

Project 365....day 2

So....day two and so far, so good. Here are a few shots I got off this morning, first on my own front porch, (stifling the rant about my neighbors and their cats at this moment)

This second shot is from my old home town....in fact, it's a distance shot of the place I was born and grew up....enjoy!

Project 365....day 1

New year, new project....this year I'm going to try to stick with the 365 project...a picture a day doesn't seem too tough to manage, and for this first one, I had a very, very hard time choosing... I will post again shortly with the 2 edits of this shot that didn't make the cut, but for now....
