"It's like the sky is on FIRE, Momma!"

That was what Amelia told me when I got home from work last Saturday night and she woke up for 3 minutes JUST to say goodnight to me. ♥ I love her in too many different ways to count, and all of them are unique to her. The sunset she was speaking of was the one we were blessed with last Saturday night. I was on my way to work and happened to have my camera with me. The colors in the pictures do not really do justice to the way the sky looked that night...it was so beautiful.

The beginnings of a BEAUTIFUL sunset.

Project 365....day 18

Today's 365 is some simple indoor, natural light shots. Amelia was home with us all day today since there was no school today, and I took advantage of that and got to get a beautiful afternoon shoot in with her. So here are my favorite shots of my girl, messy pony tail and all! ♥ Happy MLK Jr. Day!

Project 365....day 17

Today was another busy day for me...to bed last night at 2 a.m. (post work), back up before 8, and to work for 11. Whew! It makes me tired just thinking about it! My 365's today come to you from the Fireside Restaurant, where I spent my good natural-light hours. ♥

The woods behind the restaurant (specifically the fallen trees. I'm a sucker for fallen trees.

This shot is from the inside of the restaurant....just another quirky decoration. Not the first, most definitely not the last!

Project 365....day 16

Today my work has only just begun...

In a few hours I have to be at work for the evening at my AWESOME job at my husband's aunt and uncle's restaurant/comedy club. Seriously, I love going to work...when we're not busy our boss doesn't frown on us playing darts....she usually suggests it! And really, how can you beat a job where (as long as you're old enough) you get a complimentary cocktail at the end of your shift?! ♥ Anyway....today was a beautiful day in the great frozen North, and husband and I decided to take our smallest human out for a ride (and hopefully a nap) The whole trip went off without a hitch....mostly, and as an added bonus my brilliant husband brought ben folds along for the ride. As a result, I give you day 16 of my 365. Enjoy!

Today we took a drive out of our thriving little city to the north, heading for Hamilton County and some new and exciting beautiful Adirondack mt. scenery. To get these first few shots I wound up in waist deep snow (accidentally, of course)

The next couple I didn't even get out of my car to capture...Tiny Toes had finally fallen asleep and I wasn't risking it!

Project 365....day 15

Today was the worst day of my 365 so far....I wanted to get out and shoot in the middle of the day, but because of circumstances beyond my control, that did not happen. Instead, I didn't leave my house today until it was time to go give my daddy a ride home. Luckily, I remembered to bring my camera with me when I went to get him today, because on the way to his house we happened to see a whole herd of deer grazing just off a little side road. We took a little detour, and I wound up with some very happy photographs of our fuzzy wild friends. ♥

Today my first 365's are of the sweet little girl I babysit....after her wonderful nap today she was bright and sunny and SO-SO cute!

Then....the fun part! The deer on my ride to my daddy's house today!

Project 365....day 14

Today was the start of my (outside of the house) work week, and to celebrate (HA!) I took the camera to work with me. Honestly, I did this because I left 25 minutes early so I could go shoot the church that was my family's church growing up...it's for sale now, and that makes me sad, so I wanted to go shoot it not only for posterity, but also to check out the lighting for another shoot I've got coming up (stay tuned!) Anyway...that's a really long way of saying 'Here are my 365's for today.'

Before I left the house today, I snapped this random shot of Thomas' feet; I love the way his toes line up! ♥

"Here is the church, and here is the steeple, we sure are cute for two ugly people." {The Moldy Peaches}

Last, but not least, here is one of the cool, random, little signs that can be found at my resturant

Project 365....day 13

Sarah's pictures a few days ago inspired me, and also gave me an idea for a very-very local shoot! A few blocks from my house is a piece of history for this part of New York. Just a few blocks away is the site of the old FJ&G railroad. To honor this small bit of history, my city has left a piece of track and one old rail car. I went there to shoot today, and was pretty thrilled with the results.

First, just for fun I played with my macro setting for a bit, trying to capture some more perfect snowflakes.

After I played around with that for a bit, I got down to business. Here are a couple different edits of the train.

{Edit 1}

{Edit 2}

More trains for Liam! ♥

Finally today, I have a shot of my sweet little princess resting after dancing "ALL night at the ball, Momma!"
