Today was another long one...I'm in the final stretch of my baby sitting job....this is the last week, and I had all kinds of good intentions to take the kids outside and get some shots of them in the snow, but then I woke up and though it was sunny, it was only about 9 deg. To make matters worse, the little girl I watch was sicky today, so there was no going outside...I did, however, manage to capture my boy being awfully sweet.♥
This first picture was my favorite shot of Thomas today. I edited it twice, because while I was THRILLED with the original edit, after I edited the second picture of him, I decided to make it a matched set. Here are both the edits I did, I'd love to hear which is your favorite!
Edit 1:
Edit 2:
This picture is the companion shot to the 2nd edit (above). I love these shots of him...for everyone's information he was completely lost in Cars (for the 9 billionth time) He didn't even seem to notice the flash blasting away at him!
The last shot today came from the restaurant I work at. Yes, they are real snowflakes. This is an up close look at NY snowflakes on the railing of the deck.
This week the I ♥ Faces photography blog/community's challenge theme is "Best Face" photo. My entry is one of my sweet boy this past week. We took a walk in the snow, and this face was also recently a part of my 365, but I loved it so much that I had to share it again here....
Now, the thing about my son is that he loves the idea of having his picture taken, but the minute I point the camera at him all I hear is "Nooooo....don't cheese me!" (and it's always in his deep, husky, tough-guy voice) Here is my sweet toes giving me his angry face. {Photo taken on 1/6/2010}
So today I FINALLY got some free time to get out and shoot. Once again (as usual) from me, there's scenery to be seen....I'm still getting the hang of the apature settings on my camera, and striving for a beautiful, crisp image w/a UBER-blurry background...I only half managed it. Either way...here are my 365's today...enjoy!
This first image is one of my semi-successful shots from my first location...more beautiful wintering flowers.
This pic was taken with my epic friend Jani in mind....she loves trees, and this one is just for her! Muah!
Another shot of the duck grass, though this time it's from a different part of the lake. A part where the duck grass is as tall as I am! (well, taller actually, cause it grows from under teh water/ice)
Another of those interesting plants that survive winter after winter on the lake here in beautiful, scenic Upstate NY. (Cue the "I love NY" music)
Another day, another 365 post from me. Today was the last day of my work week(end) and I was there all day long....literally, I went in about an hour after I got up, and got out about 30 minutes before it was completely dark out. Blegh. What a way to spend a Sunday, huh? Anyway...I took my camera to work with me today, hoping to catch at least a few interesting things....
This first shot is the picture I set out to get when I decided to take my camera to work...this is the Fireside Mascot, all covered in snow.
This second picture is of the funky cow outside the front door of the resturant I work at. He's pretty cool, and you can't see it, he's holding up a chalk board that says "Thank you, Come Again Soon!" or something of that nature...
Today has been another stressful one photography-wise. There was just NO time for me to actually go out and shoot today. First, my husband and I helped my grandmother move some furniture into her new house <3, then I had to go to crappy-ass work! When I got home tonight, I got the nicest surprise...both kids were asleep! For my 365 today, I give you my sweet babies. <3
Today was not the greatest day for me, photo-wise. I didn't get out this morning, because I had some awesome (and adorable) company. My friend Shelby came by to hang out for a bit, and brought her super-cute, almost 2 mo. old son Isaac over (you might remember him/them from my top 10 under 5), so we had a mini-shoot indoors w/him. Also, it was family day at my daughter's pre-k, so as you can imagine, things were busy here this morning. As it worked out, I didn't get outside to shoot until about 4 pm, which is about 25-30 minutes before the sun sets. But alas, I digress...anyway....
First, a couple of my sweet girl on our "snow walk" this afternoon. <3
Next, my favorites from baby Isaac's mini-shoot this morning.
So this morning me, my camera and my very good friend Mr. Large coffee from Stewarts went on a photo shoot! I drove up about 20 miles from where I live to be able to access the lake...the shots were not exactly what I was hoping for, but I'm pleased with them none the less. Lemonade from lemons, right? Anyway, here are today's 365's...shot one is The Great Sacandaga lake (viewing from Northville), the second 2 are from the Mayfield Lake.
Follow me as I document the special moments that make life worth living! I love photographing children in their natural environment and local scenery. I am willing and able to do Custom Christmas cards, Birth Announcements, and Invitations upon request.
I'm a photographer, a mother, a daughter, sister and friend. I love a bottle of good red wine and more genres of music than I could possibly name. I live on coffee, and the smiles I get from my kids. Photography is a passion.... something I could not get through the day without....on par with music, which is necessary for life.
My perfect match in nearly every way, Bobbo is truly my best friend. I love hanging out with him as much today as I did nearly ten years ago, and I feel so blessed to have such an amazing partner in crime, and a wonderful father for my humans. That's right, ladies, I have scored. Truly. He cooks, he works on cars, he baths, diapers, and rocks babies. He is truly a gem.
The Little Humans
Miss Amazing
My sweet, curious blue-eyed first born. From an early age, I was convinced that she was a super-hero, and to this day she has never ceased to amaze me, both with her thoughtful nature, and her ability to see the beauty and the good in everything. Amelia-mazing is an incredibly wonderful big sister, and loves and defends her brother with a vengeance, and I adore the bond that they have; they are truly best friends.

Toes
My handsome, determined, sweet second born son. From day one, tiny-toes was the exact opposite of his sister in every way. He has taught me that there is always more than one way to do things, (and he is determined to find every one, let me tell you!) and that you can watch a single episode of scooby-doo every day, for all the t.v. time you're allowed each day for 2 weeks without losing your mind......if it's a really good episode.
