Day 225; The Perseid Meteor Shower. The sky looked like it was falling down on us. It was amazing.
"I would rather be a meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, then a sleepy and permanent planet."
-Jack London (1876-1916)
“I see myself as a huge fiery comet, a shooting star. Everyone stops, points up and gasps "Oh look at that!" Then- whoosh, and I'm gone...and they'll never see anything like it ever again... and they won't be able to forget me- ever.”
- Jim Morrison (1943-1971)
“Yeah we all shine on, like the moon, and the stars, and the sun.”
DISCLAIMER: In working on this blog post, I went off looking for a profound quote or two about fire.....instead, I found Jack Handy, and as any SNL fan knows, Jack Handy knows all. I couldn't NOT use this. Sorry.
"If you ever catch on fire, try to avoid seeing yourself in the mirror, because I bet that's what really throws you into a panic." ~Jack Handey
"Life is a flame that is always burning itself out, but it catches fire again every time a child is born." ~George Bernard Shaw
Day 220 brought us one of my very, VERY favorite parts of summer! Black Berries!! In fact, we ♥ berries so much, that we have a bucket specifically for them at my Momma's.
Ok, not really. I do, however, love to enter contests over at I ♥ faces. This week, the theme is "I've got to wear shades", and the minute I saw that, I knew *exactly* what picture I would be entering!! About a month or so ago, my good friend Matt and I went out for my usual every-day picture taking expedition. While we were out, we found the coolest bridge. My friend, being the great model that he is, immediately scaled said bridge and let me shoot till my heart was content. (I have the greatest friends!!) Here is my favorite capture from that shoot. To me, this photo says "I'm a real man-kinda-man. I eat raw steaks, and shave with broken glass, and do.....all kinds of other man stuff." (yeah, that's all I've got; I'm totally a little-sissy-girl.)

Day 215 was a fun day for me!! I got to do the second baby-filled session of my friend Shawna's 'Watch me Grow' package (which has also been blogged about here) Here is that sweet girl in some super-fun outtakes! ♥
For day 214 I took a ride, and wound up somewhere between Caroga Lake and Bleaker. (I know exactly where I ended up, but it sort of ruins the magic of it all, to my mind anyway) I stopped, initially, to capture a beautiful little stream, which I did, but the pics didn't turn out the way I imagined them, so those got scrapped. That's just how I roll.
Instead, I found a pretty little flower...
And an AH-MAZ-ING red dragon fly! (Yes, you read that correctly, this sucker was BRIGHT red!)
Day 213 was just for fun; a few popsicles, a few hula hoops, and a pretty good water fight. Who could ask more out of a summer vacation-day!? (ps. a special thanks to my awesome mom for sharing her computer!)
First.....my little's sweet feet! ♥
My sweet Toes munching an 'icy'
And last, but certainly not least, Amelia-mazing doing the hoop!! ♥
Day 212 was a very special day of photography for me; I was able to set up a session in honor of world breastfeeding week with an old friend's wife. Here are a few of the outtakes from a very special and personal session showcasing a mother's ultimate gift of love; breast milk.
Yet another blogged day brought to you by the number 1 and the letter M; yes, that's right, I have the #1 Momma!! ♥ She's been so kind and patient and has shared her computer with me since last Sunday after I shot a wedding....speaking of weddings; that is the subject for my 3.6.5 on day 211....bits and pieces of the wedding I shot. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Orokos!!
People say I'm lazy dreaming my life away Well they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me When I tell them that I'm doing fine watching shadows on the wall Don't you miss the big time boy you're no longer on the ball
I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round I really love to watch them roll No longer riding on the merry-go-round I just had to let it go
On day 208 my wonderful husband and I went out in the canoe again looking for an adventure....this time we started out near Good Luck Lake and moved up through the channels of the Sacandaga River. We found tons of beaver lodges, among other things.....like these amazing looking dragon flys!
This guy was the most intense colors.....emerald green and black!
Follow me as I document the special moments that make life worth living! I love photographing children in their natural environment and local scenery. I am willing and able to do Custom Christmas cards, Birth Announcements, and Invitations upon request.
I'm a photographer, a mother, a daughter, sister and friend. I love a bottle of good red wine and more genres of music than I could possibly name. I live on coffee, and the smiles I get from my kids. Photography is a passion.... something I could not get through the day without....on par with music, which is necessary for life.
My perfect match in nearly every way, Bobbo is truly my best friend. I love hanging out with him as much today as I did nearly ten years ago, and I feel so blessed to have such an amazing partner in crime, and a wonderful father for my humans. That's right, ladies, I have scored. Truly. He cooks, he works on cars, he baths, diapers, and rocks babies. He is truly a gem.
The Little Humans
Miss Amazing
My sweet, curious blue-eyed first born. From an early age, I was convinced that she was a super-hero, and to this day she has never ceased to amaze me, both with her thoughtful nature, and her ability to see the beauty and the good in everything. Amelia-mazing is an incredibly wonderful big sister, and loves and defends her brother with a vengeance, and I adore the bond that they have; they are truly best friends.
*****
Toes
My handsome, determined, sweet second born son. From day one, tiny-toes was the exact opposite of his sister in every way. He has taught me that there is always more than one way to do things, (and he is determined to find every one, let me tell you!) and that you can watch a single episode of scooby-doo every day, for all the t.v. time you're allowed each day for 2 weeks without losing your mind......if it's a really good episode.
